ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
DISASTER RESPONSE: THE 1975 OMAHA TORNADO
This report
presents the findings and recommendations of the Mayor's Disaster
Review Task Force on the Omaha response to the 1975 tornado
disaster. Recommendations for improvements have been made
in warning systems, agency response, damage identification,
local codes and ordinances and pre-planning for recovery.
This report
was financed in part through a planning grant from the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development, project number
CPA-NE-07-26-1014; and in part through a grant from the State
of Nebraska Governor's Emergency Fund through Operation Phoenix.
